It’s official! The addition of VOIP has finally arrived. Chat with friends, yell at enemies, or even talk to yourself as you lose your mind in the wasteland.

Hey Survivors,

To celebrate the Steam Spring Sale, ZSGO is now 88% off – our biggest discount so far. We are hoping that this brings in more survivors to the wasteland and more feedback on gameplay.

Alongside the sale, we’ve put together a small update focused on quality-of-life improvements, VOIP, and general cleanup across the game.

🎤 VOIP (Voice Chat) Added

  • Added in-game VOIP system
  • VOIP keybinds are now configurable in settings
  • New on-screen indicator shows when your voice is active
A lineup of the traders that are in the open-world zombie game ZSGO

🎮 UI & Menu Improvements

  • Updated inventory UI for a cleaner, easier-to-use layout
  • Added more quick-access buttons to the Main Menu
  • Fixed issues with Game Settings not properly applying from the HUD, including tooltip and HUD visibility options

🌍 Servers & World Updates

  • Added 4 new servers
  • Adjusted vehicle spawning with new safeguards to prevent overlapping spawns

⚙️ Gameplay & System Tweaks

  • Improved push mechanic state handling, now timer-based instead of animation-dependent for smoother behavior across server, client, and dedicated play
  • Added additional checks targeting the “99 ammo” issue. We are still monitoring this one

🚀 Performance Improvements

  • Optimization pass on world items
  • Increased cull distances to reduce unnecessary rendering

🐛 Fixes & Cleanup

  • Fixed color-changing crate issue
  • Removed unused plugins and old internal files for improved stability and load times
  • General backend cleanup and system organization

We’re continuing to improve things step by step and really appreciate all the feedback and support from all the survivors.

We have a few more updates planned before our 1.0.0 Cave Update.

If you run into issues or have suggestions, feel free to share — it helps us a ton.

THANK YOU SURVIVORS!!!

~ The ZSGO Team

ZSGO developers meetup and smiling together.

Ever since I built my first PC to play custom zombie maps on 'Call of Duty: World at War,' I knew PC gaming would be a huge part of my life. My passion for zombies didn't just stop there—I grew up playing iconic games on my PlayStation 2 and 3, like 'Resident Evil 5,' 'Dead Rising,' 'The Walking Dead,' 'Fallout,' 'Bioshock,' and the 'Sly' series. However, once I switched to PC, there was no looking back; my PlayStations found their way into storage, and my heart stayed with PC gaming.

My love for survival games deepened with 'Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead’s DayZ' mod, where fate had me meet Dev Ear and Dev SuperPoggers atop the triple yellow in Cherno. A simple meetup on TeamSpeak turned into a lifelong friendship. We've traveled across states—from California to Florida—bonding over countless survival games like 'Rust Legacy' and 'WarZ.' Our adventures led us to run our own Rust servers and Minecraft communities, even tinkering with game development tools like Unity and Unreal Engine.

Our shared dreams and dedication have culminated in the creation of ZSGO, our ultimate zombie survival game. Bringing our collective expertise and creativity to the table, we're committed to crafting an unforgettable gaming experience that stands out in the survival genre.
